L ARGE GAINS SEEN IN CONSTRUCTION Total Industrial Projects Reach Highest Weekly Level Since 1931. Special Dispatch to The Star. NEW YORK, November 4.—Volume | of engineering construction reached its highest point for any week since Oc- tober, 1931, last week with a total value of $58,980,000, with a significant improvement in industrial building ac- tivity, it 15 reported by Engineering News-Record. By the Associated Press. NEW YORK, November 4.—An offer to holders of all of the 8 per cent pre- ferred stock of the Consolidated Ofl Corp. to exchange their stock for a new issue of preferred stock has been authorized by the Board of Directors. The board has also authorized re- demption of the 8 per cent preferred stock up to $5,000,000. This call is to apply to any shares outstanding and unexchanged after December 7, the date by which the exchange offer must be acceptéd. The stock is to be re- deemed at $110 a share and accrued interest. An issue of 110,586 shares of the new preferred stock has been au- | thorized for the purpose of carrying out the exchange, it was stated. The new stock, which will have no par value, will be entitled to cumulative dividends of 5 per vent annually and will be callable at $105 a share. It will have the same voting rights as common stock and will have the benefit of a sinking fund of 1 per cent semi-annually. The basis of exchange will be one and one-tenth shares of the new pre- ferred for each share of the 8 per cent preferred.
