CURB LIST MOVES 0 HIGHER LEVELS Demand Heavy for Mining, Utility and Oil Issues. Specialties Firm. By the Associated Press. NEW YORK, October 25.—Heavy demand for oils, mining shares and utilities brought advances up minor fractions to around 5 points on the Curb Market today. Specialties were extremely buoyant in some cases, although the turnover ‘was generally small. American Gas & Electric was an outstanding performer among the utilities with a gain of 1% points at 37%. NEW YORK, October 25.—Dow, Jones & Co. said today that United Stores Corp. and George K. Morrow and associates have virtually conclud- ed negotlations for the sale of their holdings in United Cigar Stores Co. to an investment trust which, it is understood, plans to reorganize the company. United Stores, the report said, is umn. its holdings of bonds and 1888 | preferred stock, and Tobacco Products Corp. of Delaware is selling its hoidings of approximately 3,000,000 common shares of the cigar store chain.
