The Federal Reserve System -re- ported a drop of $252,000,000 in mem- ber bank reserve balances during the week ended September 18, reducing | excess reserves to $2,560,000,000. The change was occasioned, the statement showed, by a transfer’ of $210,000,000 of Treasury cash from commercial banks to Federal Reserve institutions during the period, accom- panied by an increase of $60,000,000 or non-member bank deposits and other Federal Reserve accounts. ‘The monetary gold stock showed a| further gain of $21.000,000 during the week, bringing total stocks to $9.240,- 000,000—$1,268,000,000 higher than last year. The conditions statement said: “The daily average volume of Fed-| eral Reserve Bank credit outstanding | during the week ended September 18, as reported by the Federal Reserve banks, was $2,485,000,000, an increase of $5,000,000, compared with the pre- | ceding week and of $12.000,000 com- | pared with the corresponding week in 1934. “On September 18 total reserve bank credit amounted to $2,472,000,- 000, a decrease of $7,000,000 for the week. Every mile was flown with twin-engined passenger transports.
