COMDR. KINGMAN TO LEAVE CAPITAL Senior White House Naval Aide Is Ordered to Sea—Post Goes to Lieut. Comdr. Ostrander. Naval orders, published yesterday, revealed that Comdr. Howard F. Kiug- man, senior White House naval aide under Capt. Wilson Brown, the naval aide to the President, will leave Wash- ington shortly to go to sea. He is| being detached about nine days hence | from the Office of Naval Communica- ticas in the Navy Department and will go to the cruiser Minneapolis as executive officer. This shift will leave Lieut. Comdr. | John E. Ostrander, who is on duty in the Bureau of Aeronautics, as the senior White House naval aide. Relieving Comdr. Kingman in the Office of Communications, where he was a code sud signal expert, in & position of secretive responsibility, will be Comdr. John W. McClaran, who | has been in command of Mine Divi- sion 1, at Pearl Harbor, Hawalii, aboard his flagship the U. S. S. Gamble. The vacancy will exist in the list of White House naval aides, but naval officials explained this will not be filled uatil around August 1. They indicated other changes were con- | templated.
