CHICAGO, July 9.—Wheat prices | spurted more than 4 cents today. ex- tending the rally from season’s lows established last week. Black rust damage, reported spread- ing in Spring wheat, was the leading bullish influence in the market, al- though a sharp rise of almost 4 cents in nearby wheat deliveries at Liver- pool prompted much buying. There were also reports of drought damage in Eastern Montana and rather dis- appointing threshing returns from the Bouthwest. A closing rush to buy carried wheat 8% to 4!4 cents above the previous finish, September, 847ga85. Corn closed &, to 134 up, September, 767227614, and oats gained 7gal, rve 175-2'4, and barley held unchanged. Provisions were stmng with grams Reading Jer C 48 '51.. Reading R 4%8'97 A.
