CALL DIES AT RESIDENGE Was Chief Counsel for Fed- eral Power Commission From 1920 to 1929, Col. Lewis W. Call, U. 8. A, retired, chief counsel for the Federal Power Commission from 1920 to 1929, died early yesterday morning at his home, 203 Oxford street, Chevy Chase, after an illness of three months. A resident of the Washington area since 1887, Col. Call was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, in 1858. After graduating from the Kansas State Agricultural College in 1883 with the degree of bachelor of science, he entered the Signal Corps, U. 8. A, which brought him to Washington. Appointed Law Cierk. Because of his high standing in a special law examination he was ap- pointed a law clerk in the office of the judgg advocate general. He received the degrees of bachelor and master of laws from the Law School of Colum- bian College, now George Washington University. The same institution later conferred on him the honorary degree of doctor of civil law. Chief clerk and later solicitor of the judge advocate general's office, Col. Call was appointed a major in the Army in August, 1917. He received the Distinguished Service Medal for his war service as chief of the section THURSDAY, Two Sons Killed in War. A native of Cincinnatl, Mr. Gest was president of the Rookwood Pot- tery Co. there since 1914, and for many years had been director of the | Cincinnati Art Museum.
