The hearing, one of the smallest in recent years, was attended by ep- proximately only 100 persons, prac- tically all of whom favored retention of the present county health unit and urged the necessity of additional po- lice protection. A delegation from the Fairfax | County Colored Citizens’ Association, with Ollie Tinner as spokesman, pro- tested the fact a 10 per cent cut in the salaries of county police officers had not been restored in the tentative budget. Others who expressed similar senti- ments with respect to the need for greater police protection included R. Quincy Adams, the sixth President. John the first was born on October 19, 1735.
