NEW YORK, March 27— Offerings of new bonds this week will estabiish & four-year high with additional se- curities being prepared for the market. The total will be in the neighbor- hood of $150,000,000 with prospective offerings boosting the total over the $200,000,000 mark. The last week over that point ended April 10, 1931, when $294,373,000 in new bonds came onto the market. While automobile requirements for | May are expected to be somewhat un- der April, “it is believed that the motor makers will experience an- other million-car quarter in the next three months.” The farm implement industry con- tinues in the van of recovery, Iron Age stating that “although implement makers expected an increase in de- mand this year, actual orders have been four times as large as their most optimistic estimates. An acute shortage of skilled labor has devel- oped in certain implement manu- in the industry. Iron Age says new structural projects announced during the week call for only 2,600 tons of steel, the smallest since April, 1933. Scrap steel prices again weakened during the past week, reducing the Iron Age composite to $10.75 a ton from $10.83, a new low for 1935.
