Joseph Y. Reeves, secretary to As- sociate Justice William Hitz of the Court of Appeals yesterday was named probation officer for the District Su- preme Court. He replaces Amos A. Steele, who has been retired. Reeves will take over his new duties April 1. Steele, who had served as probation officer for many years, has been con- fined to his home since Justice James M. SAN DIEGO, Calif.,, March 25.—Air forces of the United States Fleet are pointing for the Navy's greatest ma- neuvers, which start May 3 and con- tinue for more than five weeks through the North Pacific. Several hundred fighting planes are engaged in the round-up of gunnery flights, tactical aircraft maneuvers, drills and exercises preceding the big war game. Rear Admiral Alfred W.
