Fontaine, after eight years of suffering from Paget's disease, dur- ing which he has lost 4 inches in height and has repeatedly been told his days were numbered, is not only “very much alive and having a pretty good time,” but he also believes his ailment is being arrested. Foataine has been under treatment at the Massachusetts General Hos- pital by Dr. Fuller Albright, world Alamo famous speclalist on bone degenera- tion, more than a year. The disease is decalcification of the bones; that is, the system fails to assimilate lime from food and so draws it from the bones. The disease has affected Fontaine's skull, pelvis and bones in both legs and his left arm. His skull has be- come slightly mottled with shallow iadentations. His height has decreased from 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 3 inches and one leg is a bit shorter than the other. Mohawk Dam Bids Opened. CINCINNATI, March 21 (#).—Lieut. Col. R. G. He then joined the staff of a Boston evening paper, following which he to New York, where he was business manager of the New York Journal. Leaving the newspaper field, Mr. French engaged in advertising work, | editing the Advertising News of Bos- ton. . Not long after he returned to| New York and taught classes in ad- | vertising at New York University and the Y. M. C. A. in New York and Newark, N. J.
