Funeral services for Cornelius Ford, public printer during the Wilson ad- ministration, who died early yesterday morning at his residence, 1110 East Capitol street, will be beld tomorrow at 10 am. in Holy Comforter Church, Fourteenth and East Capitol streets. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemete: Mr. !'r!s)rd was stricken with a heart attack about 10 days ago. Until that time he had been actively engaged in the printing business at 739 Thir- teenth street. He was 68 years old. Before his appointment by President ‘Wilson as public printer of the United States cn June 26, 1913, Mr. Ford was prominent in labor movements in New Jersey, his native State, where he served as president of the State Fed- eration of Labor. He also served three terms in the State Legislature. Besides his widow, Mrs. Catherine Ford, he is survived by five daughters Rites Tomorrow CORNELIUS FORD. MRS. F. C. Baird, who died Tuesday, were held this afternoon at the home, 3601 Ma- comb street. Services were conducted by Rev. Dr. C. T. Warner, rector of St. Albans, and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. * Mrs. Baird was the former Miss Mary Elizabeth Hume, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Hume. She was born at Tunlaw, the old Hume estate, now Wesley Heights. She was educated at Georgetown Con- vent, Gunston Hall and at Mme. Le Fevre’s school in Baltimore and later | made her debut in Georgetown and | Washington. She had a wide circle | of friends in Washington. | After she married Mr. Baird she moved to Pittsburgh, but in reecnt years returned jo Washington with her husband. In addition to her husband. Mrs. Baird is survived by two children, Charles H. James and Nancy James Elmore, and by two brothers, Thomas L. Funeral services for Dr. David Grif- fiths, 67, noted speclalist of the Bu- reau of Plant Industry and founder of the great bulb testing gardens near Bellingham, Wash., were to be con- ducted at 3 p.m. today at his home, 6961 Maple street, Takoma Park, by Rev. U. G. B. Pierce, pastor of All Soulf Unitarian Church. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery. Dr. Griffiths, who died Tuesday night at Emergency Hospital, came to this country with his parents from Wales at the age of 3. He studied at South Dakota Agricultural College, receiving a Ph. D. from Columbia in 1900. Accounted one of the leading scientists of the country, he was an expert on forage plants, grasses and fungi, and tested for many years the spineless forms of cactus, giving his large collection of them to Luther Burbank. Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, John D. Griffiths; a daugh- ter, Mrs. Elizabeth Griffith Lash; a sister, Mrs. F. E. Elliott of Marysville, Wash., and a brother.
