HENRY D. KING. 87, ILL 6 WEEKS, DIES Confederate Veteran Was Pension Office Worker for 27 Years. Henry D. King, who fought through the Civii War in the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, died yes- terday at his home, 333 F street north- east, after a six weeks' illness. He was 87 years old. Mr. King, who had lived in Wash- ington since 1893, retired from the Pension Office in 1923 after 27 years’ service. Active in church work, he had been a member of the board of Central Presbyterian Church for 37 years. During the Civil War, Mr. King was atached to Company C, 47th Vir- ginia Infantry, Barton's Brigade, G. U s W. C. Lee’s division, Ewell's Corps. He held the post of commissary gen=- eral in Camp 171, United Confeder~ ate Veterans of the District, for many ‘eArs. 2 Mr. King is survived by his daugh- ter, Miss Mattle King, a clerk in the Patent Office. Funeral services wil be held 1n the Central Presbyterian Church tomorrow at 10 a.m., followed by burial in the church cemetery. PAGE WOMAN EXPIRES Mrs. C. N. Graves, commissioner of revenue for Page County, and sister of H. T. Shuler, Stanley postmaster. Mrs. Graves was taken to the hos- pital a few days ago, when a bone lodged in her throat. Besides her nus- band she is survived by a daughter, Miss Elizabeth Graves, and several brothers and sisters. RIXEY, WIDOW OF ADMIRAL, DIES Injuries Suffered in Auto'mo- bile Accident Fatal at Charlottesville. Special Dispatch to The Star. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Febru- ary 11.—Injured in an automobile- train accident near Rapidan last Thanksgiving, Mrs. Earlena English Rixey, 78, widow of Rear Admiral | Presley M. Rixey, died at the Uni- versity Hospital here yesterday. She had sustained a fractured hip and several broken ribs. Mrs. Rixey was the daughter of the late Admiral Earl English. She was born at Trenton, N. J., and married Rear Admiral Rixey, who served as surgeon general of the Navy and as personal physician to Presidents Mc- Kinley and Theodore Roosevelt, in 1877. She was visiting a niece, Mrs John Taliaferro, at Rapidan at the time of the accident. Rear Admiral Rixey left the Naval| Hospital in Washington as his monu- ment when he died in 1928. Services for Mrs. Rixey will be held | at St. Mary’s Church at Rixey Station, Va., near Washington, at 11 am. to- morrow. She will be buried beside her | husband in Arlington National Ceme- tery. Mrs. Church also leaves one brother and one sister. The children are Durant Church, Melville D.
