HE President and Mrs. Roose- velt, with the members of their family, who are their guests at the White House, attended the morning service at 11 o'clock today in St. Thomas’ Church, where the President was a member of the vestry when he lived in Washing- ton as Assistant Secretary of the Navy during the Wilson-administration. This evening the Chief Executive and Pirst Lady of the Land and their children and grandchildren, with the President’s mother, Mrs. James Roose- velt, will have their Christmas dinner. The cqmpany will include Mrs. Roose- velt Dall, daughter of the President and Mrs. Roosevelt, and her two chil- dren, Eleanor and Curtis Dall; Mr. and Mrs, James Roosevelt, 2d., son and daughter-in-law of the hosts, and little Sarah Delano Roosevelt, named for her great-grandmother, Mrs. James Rooseveit, and the two youngest chil- dren of the Chief Executive and the First Lady, Mr. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, jr., and Mr. John Roosevelt, Wwho are here for the holidays from their studies at Harvard. Festivities at Embassies and Legations for Yuletide. The Ambassador and Senora de Espil are entertaining at luncheon to- day for the members of the embassy staff and their wives. The Ambassador and Senora de Espil gave a Christmas party for the latter's children yesterday afternoon. The Ambassador of Italy, Senor Augosto Rosso, was host at dinner last evening when his guests were the members of the embassy staff and their wives. The Ambassador of France and Mme. de Laboulaye will have a family dinner party today at the embassy. The Ambassador and Mme. de La- boulaye were joined yesterday by their eldest son, M. Paul de Laboulaye, who arrived from France to spend several weeks in Washington. The Ambassador of Japan and Mme. Saito entertained at a Christ- mas eve party last evening. The Ambassador of Spain and | Senora de Calderon entertained at a dinner last evening in the embassy. when the guests were the members of the staff and their wives. Presents | were exchanged around the Christ- | mas tree following the dinner. The Ambassador of Brazil and Senhorade Aranha will entertain the members of the embassy staff and their wives at dinner this evening in the new embassy on Massachusetts avenue, The Secretary of War and Mrs. George H. Dern will entertain at din- ner Friday evening at Highwood, their home in Chevy Chase. The Attorney General and Mrs. Homer S. Cummings will entertain in- formally tonight at dinner for their guests, Mrs. Bartlow S. Weeks and Mr. John Murphy of New York..
