York to attend the 3d Division | Convention which will wind up with a | World War Veterans' banquet next Sat- | urday night. when German veterans of | New York will be guests of honor of their former enemies at war in the fleld. Nearly a dozen active and retired generals, in company with several hun- dred other veterans of the famous 3d (regular) Division ranging from colonels to buck privates, will entertain that night for their former German “enemies.” “Indeed it is likely,” said an an- nouncement of the banquet, “that many & pair of opposing rifiemen, who sighted along steel barrels at each other dur- ing the Summer and Fall of 1918, will get acquainted July 15 for the first | time and swap experiences of the war.” Among the generals who are to be present are: May.
