The most thorough air and water survey of the proposed North Atlantic air route ever undertaken will begin within a week with the departure from | New York of the steamship Jelling with a technical party headed by Maj. Rob- ert A. Logan of Pan-American Airways. it was learned here today. The speciab expedition headed by | Logan will take an airplane and the most complete scientific equipment and will complete the technica) study which ! has been in progress for several years of the more troublesome sections of the northern ocean route, which touches Iceland and Greenland. 5 The Logan expedition is being made with the approval of the governments concerned. with some of which Pan- American has arranged concessions for ocean air service. Ship Well Stocked. The Jelling. a 3.500-ton ship. will serve as a base for the air surveys and will carry 25000 gallons of gasoline | and 2,500 gallons of oil for use in sur- vey flights. C., June 23.—Four high school students, who opened a grave here to take pictures to further scientific study in a school club, plead- ed guilty yesterday to disturbing a grave- yard and each was sentenced to spend | five nights, from 10:30 pm. to 4 am, glone in the cemetery. The charge against the four viously was grave robbing. but it wa cxplained the youths had taken noth from the grave and. since this ch: was @ felony, it was changed to dis- turbing a graveyard.
