Corn scored a maximum upturn of 133 cents a bushel, | owing chiefly to prolonged adverse weather, indicative of crop dangers later on. Big new kuying of corn afterward hoisted that grain afresh and wheat as| well. Corn went higher than was the case early, and wheat overtopped yes- terday’s finish. The rise of corn car- ried the market to the highest point since November, 1931. On the rally, wheat hovered around the season's top quotations, but weakened again under selling to realize profits. Indications of persistent widespread lay to planting accompanied the soar- ing of corn prices. On the other hand, public buying of wheat appeared to be confined largely today to periods when the market showed price setbacks. Most professional traders in wheat leaned to the selling side for the time being. The fact that the Liverpool wheat market was higher today than expected, and that British exchange was at the topmost figure in more than two years, was virtually ignored. Oats | were neglected. Provisions tended upgrade with corn. ‘Wheat closed unsettled, !; de: yesterday’s finish, corn at vance, oats 'y off to Y4 up, sions unchanged to a rise of 15 cents. .
