LOS ANGELES, May 5—A demand that a citation be issued to “drag” Wal- lace Beery, movie villain, away from a picture set to a court hearing was de- nied yesterday by Court Commissioner Celemence Brown. The hearing was put off two weeks. The demand was made by Nathan Friedman, attorney for Barbara Bed- ford, former movie actress, who is at odds with Beery over the $10,000 in- surance policy of John Albert Rascoe, her late former husband. Miss Bedford's complaint said Rascoe left his insurance to Beery with the understanding the latter would care for his daughter, Barbara Edith Rascoe, 8, and that Becry now wishes to send the child away to school, while Miss Bedford is determined to keep her at home. Rascoe died about a year ago, two vears after he and Miss Bedford had been divorced.
