WANT TO LOOK YOUNG?| Artificial Flowers on Dress BY MARY MARSHALL. NTERESTINGLY enough we still speak of the neckline of an evening dress, and the French word decol- letage also has the same signifi- cance. That is about the only way to refer to the topmost line of an eve- ning dress, even.if it does seem absurd to use the word neckline to an edge of | b silk, satin or velvet that runs from the shoulders nearly to the waist at the back. Front necklines have not been exces [ sively low this Winter as a usual thin | but there is mo question about th rightness of the low-cut back, and an, predictions of a return of the high- backed evening gown that was made last year was simply a shot fired in the air_that came to nothing On most of the smart formal evening gowns this Winter there is amazingly little at the back above the belt, and yet the little that there is is of great importance, because the style of the dress is judged to a great e on the way this part of the dress is cut. In many of the newest evening gowns there is a sort of low surplice drapery | or girdle. at the back so that folds of the ma- terial from the right side of the back are crossed over to the left side, where they are held closely down at the belt Frequently there is an ar- rangement of artificial flowers at the back and today's sketch shows a clever combination of bright colored artificial flowers and matching velvet girdle on a pastel-toned satin dress. On a very pale pink satin, roses and girdle might be of rose or by way of contrast deep greenish blue or velvet might be posed on satin of very light chartreuse to give a color combi- nation that is at once a little startling | and decidedly smart (Copyright, 1932.) DAILY DIET RECIPE MINTED PINEAPPLE SUPREME. One and one-half tablespoons gelatin, one-half cup cold water, one-half cup granulated sugar, one cup canned pineapple juice, two or three drops spearmint flavoring, one tablespoon lemon juice, one cup whipping cream, few drops green vegetable col- oring and one cup fresh straw- berries. SERVES 6 OR 8 PORTIONS. Soak gelatin in cold water five minutes. Combine sugar and pineapple juice, add _softened gelatin, put ‘over fire and bring to the boiling point. Remove from fire and cool slightly. Add mint flavoring (it can be bought at the drug store) and lemon juice. Chill almost to point of con- gealing. Then carefully fold in the cream which has been whip- ped stiff. Add just enough vegetable coloring to tint a deli- cate green. Turn into a large mold or into individual molds Lovely if molded in smail ring molds so that the centers can be filled with fresh fruit—straw- berries, wedges of pineapple or any desired fruit. Of course, scc- tions of canned pineapple could be used if preferred. DIET NOTE. Recipe furnishes sugar, fat, protein. Lime, iron, vitamins A and B present—most fresh fruits would add vitamin C. Can be given in moderation occasionally to children 8 years and over. Can be eaten by normal adults of average or under weight.
