WIFE OF MINT HEAD SUCCUMBS AT HOTEL Mrs, Leslie H. Grant Ill 20 Months. Was Washington Resident Since 1823. Mrs. Leslie Hayden Grant, 62 years old, wife of Rcbert J. Grant, director of the mint, died early tcday at her home in the Wardman Park Hotel after an illness of 20 months. Mrs. Grant had been a Washington resident since W. WARREN THE EVENING STAR, WA SHINGTON, D. €, THURSDAY JULY 30, her husband was appointed to his pres- ent position in 1923. Born in Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Grant was a resident of Ji ville, Fla., at the time of her marrisge in that’ city in 1894, Mr. and Mrs. Grant spent the years 1904 and 1905 in Australia, where Mr. Grant was connected with Bewick- Moring & Co. of London, of which Her- bert Hoover was then managing di- rector. Mr. Grant was in the mining business until sppointed superintendent of the Denver Mint in 1921, They mu::g’lo Washington frcm Denver in 5 Mrs. Grant was & member of the D. A. R., the Pilgrims, and the Auxillary to the American Institute of Mining Engineers. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frederick: Dun- ham of Washington, and a brounr, A A.
