PRINCE STARTLES SOCIETY IN CHLE Night Life and Calisthenics Done Publicly in Pajamas Shock Natives. By the Associated Press. VINA DEL MAR, Chile, February 27. ~Crowds of Chileans who gathered, un- abashed, about the presidential Summer palace these days have secn David Windsor, Prince of Wales, in some of his more intimate moments. The prince, when he arises, goes into the garden and does a round of cal- isthentics, entirely oblivious of the staring eyes, already awakened to won- der by the habits of a man who waits until nearly noon to leave his bed. Dashing blue pajamas, tousled hair and sleepy eyes have made this phase of the prince’s life the most interesting of his visit here to the crowds, who watch him, thrilled, as he bends, runs and indulges in the gymnastics of a man fearful of a growing waistline. Keeping up with the prince has proved to be one of the hardest tasks Chilean society and the British colony ever have had. While toning down his polo and riding to suit his advancing age, he still is the leader of them all at night life. Few of the circle in which he has moved have had more than three or four hours' sleep nightly since he_arrived. The Chilean papers are making a daily rite of publishing accounts of his daily whirl of social and recreational activities. They express amazement that a man of his small statvre is able to withstand the strain of an endless Tound of champagne toasts, noon func- tions, afternoon polo, cocktail parties, business conferences, heavy dinners, dances and baccarat and go to bed only when the sun is rmng e G.
