HE President and Mrs. Hoover will be the guests in whose hon- or the Secretary of the Treas- ury, Mr. Andrew W. Mellon, will entertain at dinner this evening in his apartment, at 1775 Massachusetts avenue. The dinner is the second of the series given annually by cabinet officers and their wives in honor of the Chief Executive and First Lady. Distinguished Guests to Dine at Italian Embassy. The Itallan Ambassador and Donna Antoinette de Martino will entertain at dinner this evening at the embassy. Mrs. Henry L. Stimson, wife of the Secretary of State, Will not be at home tomorrow afternoon. The Secretary of War and Mrs. Hur- Jey will attend the dinner to be given this evening at the Willard by the Kentucky Society in honor of Mr. Irvin Mrs. Willlam De Witt Mitchell, wife of the Attorney General, will be at home tomorrow afternoon from 4 to 6 o'clock and on the following Wednes- days until Lent. Mrs. Mitchell will have the wife of the new Assistant Attorney General, Mrs. Nugent Dodds, with her, and also Mrs. George E. Hamilton. Mrs. Charles Francis Adams, wife of the Secretary of the Navy, will not re- ceive tomorrow afternoon. Mrs. Hyde will be at home tomor- yow afternoon from 4 until 6:30 o'clock. Miss Gertrude Lamont, debutante daughter of the Secretary of Commerce and Mrs. Robert Patterson Lamont, will act as chairman of a group of Washing- ton debutantes who will assist Mrs. John Jay O’Connor and the members of the information unit of the Community Chest at information unit headquarters in the Gridiron room at the Willard Hotel. The information unit this year is di- vided into two divisions, one of which supplies information and the other handles all emergency supplies for the campaign workers. The information division is headed by Miss Janet Houtz as chairman, with Mrs. Charles Bradley; Mrs. Charles Crawford, Miss Mary Gordon Thom, Mrs. Dwight Clarke, Miss 8ybil Baker and Mrs. W. A.
