B8 =* ABANDON SCHOOL FEDERATION PLAN Arlington Group Favors County Council of Parent- Teacher Associations. Epecial Dispatch to The Star. BALLSTON, Va, January 6-—The plans for the orginizati-n of the Ar- lington County School Federation were abandoned last night at an adjourned me-eting held at the Washington-Lee High School on the report of a special committee ccmposed of H. G. Luther, cheirman; Mrs. Gladys Monroe, Mrs. Russell B. Clapper, James E. Rice, Mrs. Edith Rogers and Arthur Orr. _ On motion of Frederic P. Dewey, jr., plans for the purpose of constituting the Arlington County Council of Parent- Teacher _ Associaticns _were adopted, whica will conform with the laws and regulations of the State and National Congresses. There are 16 white public schools in the county and 12 of them are affiliated with the Parent-Teachers' group. H. G. Luther of the Clarendon School was chosen as_the temporary chairman and James E. Rice, temporary secretary. On motion adopted, a committee composed of Mrs. Gladys L. Monroe, chairman; Mrs. Carolyn Beatson and | Mrs. Genevieve Clapper is to draft the sonstitution and by-laws, and Mrs. Edith Rogers, chairman; Harold Brown, Fred- erick P. Dewey, jr.; Mrs. J. B. Lowell and Fred Edwards are to select a slate of permanent officers to be elected at the next meeting which will be held at the Clarendon School February 9.
