Memorial services for Charles 8. ‘Woodin, former high priest of the Capi- tol Masonic Chapter, who died last November, were held Sunday at the home of Mrs. Meredith Fellows, 6411 Piney Branch road. John Moyer represented M. M. Parker Lodge and the Order of the Mystic Shrine. Mrs. Fellows and W. C. Weckerly, assistant engineer of the Navy Department, also assisted at the ceremonies. Services were conducted by Rev. Dr. Christian M. Young, former rector of the Takoma Park Episcopal Church. Edwin R. Hart, well known music in- structor, and his son, Edwin R. Hart, jr., rendered several musical selections. Mr. Woodin, a Government employe for many years, served in the National Guard here for 30 years. RICHMOND, Va., November 13.—The serlousness of drought damage in Vir- ginia was reflected in a report yester- day by the Federal State Crop Report- ing Service that the combined yield of all State crops on November 1 was only 67 per cent of the 10-year average, the lowest estimate on record. The report, while showing greatly lessened yields, observed that farmers in general were finding their crop pro- duction slightly in excess of earlier expectations. During October, the report said. farmers were able to harvest their crops under favorable conditions; but, on ac- count of lack of molsture, there was little ' oppertunity to seed the Fall crops. The commercial apple crop was esti- mated at 1,350,000 barrels, 330,000 less than the October 1 prediction and 1,- 750,000 below the 1929 crop. .
