C-8 SLAYING IN AUTO POINTSTOWOMAN Wealthy Chicago Furrier Found Shot in Head and Revolver Near. By the Associated Press. THICAGO, November 7.—A bullet &red by an unknown person killed Sam wel Bauer, weaithy furrier, last migiit as he sat in his automobile, parked near an apartment hotel on the North Side. Detectives said they had worked on & theory of suicide, but after several hours of investigation annpunced that they were seeking Mrs. Vera Thompson, 35 years old. The detectives said they had been informed that Mrs. Thompson had called on Dr. Andre L. Stapler about 9 p.m. for treatment of two bul- let wounds, but fled when the doctor notified police. 1 Bauer's body was found shortly after 8 pm. by a police lleutenant. There was a bullet wound in his head. On the floor of the car was a pistol with one discharged cartridge. One of the rear windows of the car was shattered, ap- parently by a bullet. Another bullet was lodged in one of the machine’s doors. George Sali and Irving Ferdinand, who were standing near the hotel en- trance, told police they had heard four shots and had seen some one dart from the rear door of the automobile, but they were unable to say if it had been a man or & women. Two girls in a nearby cpartment told the police they saw two forms leap from the car and disapprar down an alley. Bauer was married and was the father of two children. GRAVE SITES.
