WOMEN ARE URGED T0 IMPROVE CITY Miss Etta Taggart Broad- casts Address on Civic Obligations. Miss Etta L. Taggart, attorney, last night urged Washington women to join their local citizens’ association as a most effective means “to help improve the city.” Speflklng over Radio Station WMAL, | Miss Taggart advised married women that their “first duty is at home, but this home duty does not end here,” she said, “and should not interfere with their civic duties, which are of neces- sity a part of their very home life.” “The women of our city,” she said, “can greatly assist in its improvement and development by identifying them- selves awith citizens’ associations and work through them for a bigger and better Washington. These associations are a great factor in the life of any city, and they are also an important factor in its very existence.” Miss Taggart gave her approval to the movement for restoration and mark- ing of the historical sites in the Dis- trict of Columbia. Vast amounts of money are being spent at the present time,” she said, “for the beautification of the Caplital of our United States. There is no time like the present for the women to work along with others in the beautification and they should individually and col- lectively aim to do this through their citizens’ associations. It is therefore urged that all women who do not be- long to an association should at once join and do her part in community and civic development.” INDOOR GOLF The “NATIONAL” “Miniature Golf that is Accurate” 228 FIRST ST.
