LEFFAANDED AN ENTERS ZUTA CASE Blonge Sought in Lingle _ Slaying Is Believed to Be Involved. By the Assccisted Press CHICAGO, August 6.—The left- handed blonde man sought in the slay- ing of Alfred (Jake) Lingle today dark- | ened the investigation of the assassina- tion of Jack Zuta, overlord. A black glove for the left hand, dis- carded by one of the killers, has fur- nished the key clue to the slaying of Zuta in a resort dance hall at Delafield, Wis,, last Friday night. A similar glove also was carefully left behind after Lingle, a Tribune reporter, was killed. A maid in a resort cabin near Dela- field supplied the Wisconsin and Chi- cago authorities with a connecting link today. She told of a number of men, varying at times from two to eleven, who occupled a nearby cabin, One of these men was seen to carry a machine gun into the cabin on July 23, she s2id. One of the five men who| shot down Zuta carried a machine gun. The maid, Sophie Oninski, said one of the men was blonde and left-handed. She remembered that by watching. him throw a ball at the batl ‘beach. A’ man ‘whom the maid identified from pictures as Zuta came along the beach one day last week. she said, and after a warning cry from one of them, all the men staying at the cabin dived into the lake o get oui of sight. When he firsi Rid out in Wisconsin after an attempy on his life was made here July 1, Zuta stopped at the Rock- stead Hotel at Peewaukee Lake, regis- teriiig there July 4. Several days later, & couple registered at the hotel as “Al Rosen and wife, Chicago.” Zuta, the police learned, checked out after seeing the couple. The woman, the police disclosed to- day, has been identified, but her name was not disclosed. 8She is now sought for questioning. Throughout the in- vestigation, a woman has been sought as the one who disclosed Zuta's where- abouts to his assassins. George (Bugs) Moran, head of the North Side gang, whose vice business Zuta managed, was reported seen in Minneapolls on his way to a Minne- apolis lake resort. A traveling bag containing several rounds of machine gun bullets was found yesterday along a highway in Milwaukee County, several miles east of Delafield. Several pairs of women's hose were in the bag. The bullets pave been turned over to the North- ! western University Crime Schnol for a ballistic comparison with those found in_Zuta's body. . i Papering . . . Painting' .. .
