PROGRAM TO HAVE | ONE COMPOSITION “Scheherazade” - Will Heard Tonight in General Motors Broadcast. Chain to Broadcast Address by Watson On Representation ‘The movement for national representation for the District will be discussed by Representa- tive Henry W. Watson of Penn- sylvania in a talk over the Co- lumbia Broadcasting System to- morrow afternoon at 5:39 5 clock. Mr. Watson will speak under the ausp‘ces of the National Se- curity League in the studios of WCAU in Philadelphia. WMAL will be connected with the Co- lumbia network for this broad- cast, A program consisting of only one eomposition, Rimsky-Korsakofl's fa- mous “Scheherazade,” will coraprise the General Motors “family party” to be broadcast tonight by WRC and a net- work of associated National Broadcast- ing Co. stations. ‘The suite, which has 1arely been broadcast in its entirety, Is based on “The Thousand and One Nights” It will be played by an orchestra directed by Don Voorhees. Another special musical feature will be a joint recital by Ida Hoyt Cham- berlain, America’s only girl author- composer, and Fredda Fayre, soprano. ‘Their program includes “Pale Moon,” “Voice of the Sierras,” and several Spanish and Mexican folk songs. Variety will be the keynote of the Roxy presentation. One of the fea- tures will be contributed by Harold van Duzee, tenor, assisted by the Roxy chorus. Specialties on Program. Adolphe Dumont’s Orchestra, the Chicagoans Quartet and Chauncey Parsons, tenor, will present the Sign of the Shell program, with Wendall Hall acting as master of ceremonies. ‘The orchestral specialties will be the “Soldier's Chorus” from _Gounod's and Gardner's “From the Canebreak.” Parsons will sing “Sing- ing in the Rain” and “Estrellita.” ‘The A. & P. Gypsies will rove to many climes in their weekly musical tour. The program contains “Happy Days Are Here Again,” “Mighty Lak’ & Rose,” “Valencia” and the “Heidel- berg Stein Song” from “The Prince of Pilsen.” Charles Wakefield Cadman’s first successful composition, “From the Land of Sky Blue Water,” is included in the program of the Ovaltine Plane of Dreams. Other numbers are “Putting on the Ritz” “Don’t Ever Leave Me” and Herbert's “Pan-Americana.” Speakers in the half hour in the Na- tion’s Capital period will be Representa- tive Lehlbach of New Jersey and C. C. ‘Teague, member of the Federal Farm Board. “Wheat Acreage Control” is Mr. Teague’s subject.
