The line was formerly operated by the Cumber- land Electric Railway Co., which sold it to the Potomac Edison. G., the German dye trust, is being offered to all refining units in the oil industry that the former com- pany believes can use such process commercially. A company, as yet unnamed, is being formed to take over from Standard and Farberindustrie the rights in the United Statés to this process. The Jer- sey Standard Co. in its offer to the oil industry requires that every com- pany accepting shall subscribe to stock in the new company and pay a small royalty. COMMODITY PRICES % ADVANCE SLIGHTLY Commodity prices advanced one- tenth of 1 per cent during the week ended March 22, according to the wholesale price index of the National Pertilizer Association. This is the sec~ ond week of slight advance in the index and it is the first week since December 7 that advances have outnumbered de- clines. Advances numbered 32 and d clines 31. Pive groups advanced and four declined. ‘The larger declines occurred in mixed fertilizer, feeds, cattle, hogs, lambs, house furnishings and methanol, !ndl- cating declines in industrial except for the declines in feeds and uva , which occurred early in the week. larger advances occurred in cotton and butter, but advances also occurred in silk, lard, cottonseed ofl, food, tin, silver and rubber.
