Cawson, 71 years old, prominent Washington Mason, died suddenly yesterday morning at his resi- dence, 1014 Massachusetts avenue northeast. Mr. Cawson, born in Isle of Wight County, Va., came to Washington in 1885 to_enter_the Governmentn Print- ing Office, Leaving the Government service in 1894, he became employed as mechanical superintendent for various newspapers, including the Washington Post and Washington Times, In 1915 he returned to the Govern- ment Printing Office, where he was em- | ployed at the time of his death. His Masonic affiliations included membership in Dawson Lodge, No. 16; Washington Naval Chapter, No. 6, R. A. M.; Orient Commandery, No. 5, K.
