Steel in the south section has virtually been completed on the first five floors, and the crews of men on six derricks are | now working on the sixth and seventh | floors. When the south section is completed in its steel skeleton the derricks will be moved to the north section. This step Jau is expected to be made before long. In introducing his paper, Dr. Crile explained that the first clue to the sur- gical treatment came from his constant contact with goiter cases. He asked that the premise, that acidity as the cause of stomach ulcers be accepted and explained that both physicians and sur- geons have based their treatments on this belief heretofore. When a person suffers hyper thyroid- ism his thyroid gland is causing the duct and organs of his body to function with greater energy. This, Dr. Crile de- clared, brought about greater acidity. About a year ago he found a case, he sectional meeting of the American Ool-i D. O, FRIDAY, said, in which a man suffered from both hyper-thyroidism and stomach ulcers. He said that an operation was per- formed for the thyroid ailments and it was discovered that the symptoms of the stomach ulcers disappeared.
