LONDON, November 28.—The Prince of Wales, who for many years had an acute dislike for speaking in public, now has become one of the best orators in the country, both in the matter of his discourses and in the manner of his delivering them. His speech on November 10 at the dinner to members of “The Most En- viable Order of the Victoria Cross,” to use his own phrase, was, in particular, hailed throughout the country as a re- markzbly fine performance; and Eng- | lishmen are especjally happy to think that, unlike many of their leading per- ronalities, the prince is usually the chief—and often the sole—author of his own orations. Naturally he seeks information from the secretariat on some of the thou- sand-and-one topics on which he is continually called upon to speak, and welcomes suggestions as to how the subject may be best approached; but on majority of occasions on which & direct, human utterance on a non- technical subject is required, it is the| prince himseif who is responsible for one mposition of the speech which he delivers. HAMILTON, Ohio, November 28 (#). —Mrs. Joan Sawyer Rentschler, former dancing partner of the late Rudolph Valentino, has been sued for $100,000 for alleged alienation of affections by Paul Wiegand, 28, an executive of the Hamilton Coke & Iron Co.
