Veritable Food Exposition. ‘The show this year will be a veritable food exposition. ~Scores of carpenters and decorators were busy late this morning adding last-minute tguches to the booths around which thousands of ‘Washin, ians are expected to mill during the next 10 days. National man- ufacturers of widely known products have sent their representatives to the Auditorium to show Washington house- wives the latest wrinkles in the appetig- ing preparation of Washington hus- bands’ dinners. All the demonstrations and displays of food products will be seen against a background of pale green and white, with which the booths are latticed. ‘The first contest of the show this year will be an innovation, and all girls with movie ations will have an opportunity to try out for audience ap- and camera fitness, The compe- tion will be a screen test, and the sudience will determine by the volume of its applause which of the contestants introduced to it shall be photographed tonight by motion picture cameras. Onl&‘the girls who receive the approval of audience will be given the actual screen test, and all those whose pictures are successful will be shown on Wash- ington theater screens before the end of the show, Saturday, November 23. ‘The first matinee session of the food show will be held tomorrow afternoon from 2 to 5 o'clock, and similar sessions of the show will be held each day there- after. The “happiest baby” contest will be a feature each afternoon at 3 o'clock. Dancers to Entertain. ‘The Six Carmody Dancers, a troupe of Washington girls of high school age, will entertain tomorrow night, while the Masonic Glee Club of 50 voices will be heard Monday night. After tonight the contest schedule will include the following events: ‘Tomorrow night, the spaghetti-eating contest, for men and women; Friday night, the women’s long-hair contest; Saturday night, solo dancing contest, for girls more than 10 years of age; Monday night, November 18, pie-eating contest, for women, who will be required to whistle after eating the pastry; No- vember 19, ayn;‘or.m fox-trot contest; November 20, rolling-pin throwing con- test, for women; November 21, solo dancing contest, for boys, and Novem- ber 22, the l‘:.d-hndh"c(:gmt, for girls.
