SALMO Army Finance Department Officer Is Buried in Arlington Na- tional Cemetery. Funeral services were held ai the Arlington National Cemetery this morn- ing for Maj. Harold G. Salmon, Army finance department, who died at his post in Omaha, Nebr., last Monday. Born in England June 14, 1875, Maj. Salmon_enlisted in the 30th United States Infantry in January, 1901, and was commissioned ‘a second lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps in June, 1916, During the World War he served as disbursing officer at Manila, P. I, and in 1918 served with troops at Viad- ivostok, Siberia, and was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun by Japan. ‘Transferred to the finance depart- ment 8s & captain in July, 1920, he served successively at San Francisco, ‘Washington, New York City, Philadel- phia and Omaha. He reached the grade of major in January, 1926. His widow, Mrs. Edith 8. Salmon, accompanied the funeral party from Omaha to this city. MAJ. W. S. WELLS DIES. Medical Corps Officer Expires at Post in Manila. ‘The War Department is informed that Maj. Ward S. Wells, Medical Corps, died at his post in Manila, P. I, last Thurs- day. A native of Iowa, he served as a captain in the Medical Corps during the World War and was promoted to the grade of major in March, 1916.
