C, THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 1929. |Self-Conscious Pair Land in Jail When Jars Whiz Past Officer's Head Self-consciousness proved the undoing of two occupants of an automobile last night, multln{ in their arrest and the arraignment of one on a charge of pos- session and transportation of liquor in Police Court today. Policeman George L. Aikens of the seventh precinct said that he noticed a car pull away from the curb at Twenty-seventh street and Rock court, and on a hunch dropped in behind just to see where it was going. He had fol- lowed it a short distance when two car, arrested Melvin Neal and Helen Jackson, both of the 3100 -block of South street, drove back and picked up the unbroken evidence, and proceedcd to the seventh precinct with his pris- oners. Neal pleaded not guilty on the charge of possession and transportation and demanded a jury trial when arraigned before Judge Robert E. Mattingly this morning. His companion was not ar- | raigned.
