SEC DAVSTOTALK OVER VR TONGH Senator King of Utah Will Speak on “The Perils of Democracy.” The work of the Department of Labor will be outlined by Secretary Davis to- night, who, with Senator King of Utah, will be 0> speakers in the “Half Hours with the Senate” period over WRC and associated stations. Senator King| has chosen for his topic ‘The Perils of Democracy.” | WRC's _oufstanding musical attrac- | tions will be provided by the Cities Service Cavaliers and orchestra, and Arthur Pryor and his Band during the | Schradertown| broadcast. A duet| for flute and oboe, “Thou Charming Bird,” will feature the Cities Service program. The or- chestra will play Director ~ Rosario Bourdon's own ar- rangement of the Bland composition, | “In the Evening| by the Moonlight.” “The Sweetest Story Ever Told.” “Alice Blue Gown" and gems from “The Spring Muid.” The band will go sere- nading for the first time. Its concert will be given under the window of Widow Biddle, & new resident of Shradertown Secretary Davis dance program by Hal Kemp's Orches- tra, in addition fo an hour of slumber music, which will close its program. The usual array of Friday night Co- lumbia Broadcasting System features, augmented by a concert by the Lenten Choir, are on the schedule tonight of WMAL. Outstanding among_them are the Kodak hour, the Vodevil Broadcast, the Story hour and Night Club Ro- mances. Van and Schenck, popular vocalizers; the Ponce Sisters, Freddie Rich's Or- chestra and Helen Clark, soprano, will provide the Vodevil program. A radio announcer will be the principal char- acter in Night Club Romances. The attractions of local origin on the WMAL program include a concert by the Hawailan Melody Boys, recitals by Gertrude Brooks Trumbley, pianist, and Thelma Mils Rector, soprano, and the 15-minute news review of the world during the “Flashes from The Evening Star” period. “Hook” Kennedy, veteran Washington radio artist, whose Scotch songs and wit were broadcast over WRC and other stations several years ago, is featured this evening by WOL. He will be heard regularly over this station on Friday evenings at 6:30 o'clock. A major portion of WJSV's program will be provided by its regular staff artists. The station also wili introduce a new duo_of entertainers, known as Toots and Dan, who will broadcast at 9:15 o'clock. LORD INVERCLYDE WEDS.
