Hotels and homes catering to tourist travel are attracting the larger num- ber of motorists, club executives said. “One of the outstanding developments in the sphere of tourist travel,” said an association statement based on informa- tion furniehed by club managers, “is the fact that the motorist has broad- ened his horizon and now travels 234 miles a day as compared to 100 miles a day 10 years ago. This means thst the large amount annually expended by the Nation's motoring army will not be confined to particular sections, but will be scattered in all parts of the country.” 35,000,000 Tourists Seen. In thi¢ connection, the association estimated that more than 35.000,000 persons—more than one-third the lation—will take vacation motor tours this year and will spend three and a half billion dollars. ‘The conference, representing the more than 1,000 clubs of the associa- tion, is concerned particularly with problems touching the clubs; problems of management, service to the public, legal and safety work and the handling of salesmen.
