MASONIC. THE St. John’s day communication of the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia will be held at Masonic Tem- * ple Thursday evening at 7 o'clock. It is at this communication that officers for 1920 will be elected and installed. La Fayette Lodge, No. 19, will have charge of the services at the Masonic and Eastern Star Home this affernoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. W. C. Waltemayer, pastor or St. Paul's English Lutheran Church, officiating. Col. C. Fred Cook, king of Mount Pleasant Royal ‘of Masons of the District of Columbia, will head the official line in the Mark e Friday evening in Mount Pleas- ant Chapter. A banquet in which 125 members of William R, Singleton Lodge, No. 30, F. A. A. M, participated in honor of their retiring master, Dean Hill Stanley, was held in the assembly hall of the Eldbrooke Methodist Episcopal Church, River road and Wisconsin avenue, Thursday night. A turkey feast was prepared and served by the ladies of Friendship Chapter of the Eastern Star. A program of specchmaking by various officials of the lodge and pop- ular songs by the assembly was fol- lowed by presentation of the master's jewel to the retiring head of the lodge, under direction of the master of cere- monies, Harry L. Freer. In presenting the jewel, Past Master R. G. Fletcher Jauded the service and faithfulness of | the retiring master, Dean Stanley, and cited the progress made during his term of office.
