August 2.—A city was named as a co-respondent in a suit for divorce filed in court here yesterday John B. Ayres, attached to the naval air station here, brought the action against his wife, Gladys Ayres, alleging in his bill of complaint that infatuation for the city of Los Ange- les. Calif., affections. HERNDON, Va., August 2.—Fire dis- covered at 3:15 o'clock this morning caused $1,000 damage to the Herndon ice plant. The loss is partly covered by insurance. ‘The new pumper of the Herndon Fire Department was in ser ice for the first time and its efclency and the nearness of two wells from which fo obtain water saved a much greater loss.
