Mrs. Rachel Smith Goodhart, 53 years old, wife of Richard Wesley Goodhart, United tSates national bank examiner, died at her residence in the Chastleton Hotel last night after a four-month iliness. A native of Maine, Mrs. Goodhart, the daughter of the late Comdr. Smith, U. 8. N.,, was brought to this city when an infant, soon after her mother died, and was the only child ever raised in the Georgetown Visitation Convent, it is stated. Her husband, Mr. Goodhart, in addi- tion to his position of bank examiner, is chief in charge of the receivership examinations, United States Treasury Department. Up to a few yvears ago he was treasurer of the Province of Bulacan in the Philippine Islands.
