Y., December 22.— Ruth Snyder and Judd Gray, declared sane by a State board of alienists, stood but one legal step from execu- tion today. Withholding of executive clemency from the two convicted of the slaying of Mrs. Snyder’s husband would send them to the electric chair. The alienists were unanimous in tell- ing Gov. Smith that they found no evidence of an unbalanced mental condition in either Mrs. Snyder or The State commissioner of correc- tion, Dr. Raymond F. C. Kieb, recently refused to allow a Chicago psychia- trist to make an examination of Mrs. Snyder, as requested by her counsel.
