CRASHOF AUTOS - | HURTS 2 4 ESCAPE Whitney D. Reed of Washing- ton and Aunt in Hospital at Sandy Spring. Epacial Dispateh to The Star. ROCKVILLE, Md., November 3.— Both seriously injured in a collision which overturned their automobile on the Rockville-Gaithersburg pike early today, Whitney 1. Reed of Washing- ton, D. C., and his aunt, Mrs, B Reed, are at the Montgomery County | P! General Hospital, Sandy Spring, re- celving medical treatment. Mrs. Whitney D. Reed, wife of the man, and their three children, 2, 4 and 6 years old, respectively, were unin- jured by the accident. Reed suffered crushed right arm and probable in- ternal injuries. The aunt was injured | { about the head and body. She was not revived until some time after ar- rival at the hospital. Tries to Avoid Crash. Charles E. Stevens of this vicinity was dri ng the highway when the large automobile occupied by the Reeds came into the pike from a side road. Stevens swerved to the left to avoid the collision and Reed was turning sharply, endeavoring at the same time to prevent crashing into Stevens' car.
