DETROIT, October 28.—Alhert Champion, who rose from errand boy in Paris, France, to millionaire auto- mobile accessories manufacturer in America, dled yesterday in Pari where he had been looking over branch factories. His death closed a career as hril liant as that of any Horatio Alger hero. Born in Paris of a family in mod- erate circumstances, he became an er rand boy in a Paris bicycle shop when 12 years old. His interest turned to bicyele racing, and he won the cham plonship of his native country in that sport. He came to the United States in 1904, becoming a motor cycle and later an automobile racer.
