Gen. William Lassiter notifled the War Department by telegraph that he was taking personal charge of Army relief work in St. ouis last night. The message said he already had or- dered the 6th Infahtry to St. Lould from Jefferson Barracks, Mo., to aid in guarding property and distributing relief. “I have authorized supply of cots and blankets to Red Cross,” the mes- sage added. Henry M. Baker, director of disaster relief of the Red Cross, left Washing- ton yesterday for St. Louis.
