FLYING WEATHER ‘STUDY TO BE AIDED Guggenheim Fund Forms| Committee to Have Head- | quarters in Capital. By the Associated Press. NEW YORK, September 16—Ad- wvancement of the study of meteorology strictly from the viewpoint of avia- tion is the purpose of a committes formed by the Daniel Guggenheim fund for the promotion of ueronautics. The committee, to be known as the Guggenheim committee on seronautical meteorology, will make its headquarters in the Weather Bu- reau in Washington. Its members are C. G. Rosshy, representing the fund; Wiilis R. Gregg of the Weather Bu- reau, Maj. Willlam R. Blair of the United States Army, Lieur. F. W. Reichelderfer of the United States Navy and Thomas H. Chapman of the Department of Commerce. It was pointed out that since the meteorologist is not usually acquainted with the science and art of flying and that not every pilot can expect to he an expert meteorologist, it often possible for a pilot, not sufficiently familiar with meteorological concep- tions and terms, to misinterpret weather information he receives. The committee just formed, the an- nouncement said, will not take up re- search work to any great extent, but will be in a position to encourage and support investigation by suitable per- sons or institutions and to direct at- tention to essential problems.
