Ohrenstein, B., of . N. Y. Mr. Ohrenstein is a of the board of lectureship of the mother church, the First Church of C t, Scientist, in Boston, Mass., * and spoke to a capacity audience in the new church edifice. He was in- troduced by Walter H. reader of Third Church, under whose auspices the lecture was given. The lecturer said in part: “What is #cience? Only what is true or real can be known, and only truth or reality cannot cease to be and cannot undergo change. Every thing material—which means every- thing accepted by the so-called nat. ural sciences—being capable of de: struction or of undergoing change, must be unreal and untrue. “According to Jesus, true science is to know God and the Christ whom he came to reveal, and whom to know 1s life eternal; to know the liberating truth He taught, and to have the #piritual joy or happiness which he 4 enjoyed as a result of His true, His Christian, science. Let me quote what Mrs. Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christlan Sclence, has defined science to be. On page 127 of her book, “Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures,” she says: “‘If God the Alldn-all, be the crea- tor of the spiritual universe, including man, then everything entitled to a classification as truth, or science, must be comprised in a knowledge or understanding of God, for there can be nothing beyond illimitable divinity.’ “Jesus said that to know God is life eternal. That He Jknew. whereof He spoke. He demonstrated by raising the y @ead. He said that knowing the truth * ‘shall make you free,’ and he demon- strated this by liberating people from bondage to every manner of ill; by liberating them from sin, from sick- ness, and from want of every kind. My joy and My Peace I give ' unto ¥y and not only did He rejoice greatly in spirit, but He was able to retain both peace and joy even when confronted with the cross." RAIL PAY BOOST ASKED.
