Freeman, Bishop of Washington, presided, In his introductory-address, Bishop Freeman spoke of the value of all classes of society in all parts of the world, of this organization which sends reading matter, both secular and religious books, to start and sus- tain libraries in schools, colleges and missions: to hospitals, homes, insti- tutions of all kinds everywhere. Rev. Dr. Z. B. Phillips, rector of Epiphany Church, spoke of the op- portunity for friendly human contact, of broadening sympathies. He also explained a plan offered through the Church Periodical Club for a con- certed “Follow Up" of the bishop's crusade. Mrs. Henry T. Cook, the ‘Wyoming, is in charge of the plan. Right Rev. Henry St. George Tuck- er, formerly Bishop of Kyoto, Japan, told of the work of the Church Periodical Club in Japan. It was explained that although the club is under the auspices of the Episcopal Church, it serves people of all faiths and those of no faith. $4,500 OFFERING MADE. Gunton Temple Thanksgiving . Danner, general secretary of the American Mission to Lepers, will speak at the service at 11:15 a.m. tomorrow at Concordla Lutheran Evangelical Church, Twentieth and G styeets. Mr. Danner recently re- turned from a tour of the world. He visited many of the leper asylums in all the different countries. He made this trip to interest the governments to give medical aid for the cure of lepers. In the evening service, at 8 p.m., Dr. J. Monroe Stick will speak. Dr. Stick is the missionary pastor of the Lutheran Inner Mission Society of ‘Washington. He will speak on the needs of Washington which make the work of his soclety necessary. The Brotherhood of Concordia Church meets Tuesday, at 8 p.m. This is to be family night. The mem- bers and their families will be enter- tained by Dr. Willlam P.
