U, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1926 MAN DIES AS AUTO HITS DANGER SIGNAL John Stepper of Washington Suf- fers Broken Neck at Helen, Md., Curve. ‘When their automobile crashed into 8 danger signal. indicating a sharp curve at Helen, Md., on the Leonard- town road, John A. Stepper, 34 vears old, 115 P street, sustained a broken neck last night, killing him almost Instantly, and his companion, Oscar Gingell, 20 years old, of Rockville, Md., was seriously injured. The car, which is believed to have been bound for Leonardtown, struck an arm of the danger signal. turning over and hurling the occupants to the road. Stepper, who conducted an automobile repalring establishment near Fourteenth and S streets, is be- lieved to have struck the danger sig- nal as he fell, breaking his neck. He was dead when Dr. L. B. Johnson of Morganza, two miles south of the accident, reached the scene. Gingell was rendered unconsclous and sustained a broken collar hone and was cut and bruised about the face and head. He was taken to Providence Hospital by Oscar Guy of La Plata, Md., who arrived in his car shortly after the fatal accident. Besides his wife, Stepper is sur vived by two daughters, Mary, 11 vears old, and Genevieve, 7 years old, and a 13-year-old son, John Stepper.
