Rocxegeller, jr., of New York, to pro- vide $10,000,000, to be used for the constriction of a new Egyptian museum of antiquities in Cairo, be- came known here last night with the publication of a cablegram to King Fuad, in which Mr. Rockefeller an- mouncés the withdrawal of his offer to avoid embarrassing the Egyptian government. The Egyptian government has not yet midde an official announcement on the matter. The newspapers publish the news along *with Prof. Jaumes H. Breas- ted’s correspondence with Premier Zi- war, thus lifting the veil of secrecy which! has surrounded the negotia- tions carried on by Prof. Breasted in behalf of Mr. Rockefeller.
