NEW YORK, February 26.—Prices were a shade lower in the bond mar- ket today, influenced perhaps by the weakness in stocks and perhaps by the trend toward higher money. The lcsses in the high-grade invest- ment group, however, were very small, the principal selling appearing in the second grade and more specu- lative issues. Foreign bonds weak- ened slightly also with a few con- spicuous exceptions. French citles s | were from % to % of a point lower and Seine 7s dropped back 4 point French 7% at one time were down nearly a point. French 7s were bet- ter supported. Brazil issues gave ground, but the Hungarian municipal 7%s were firm, and so were the Ger- man 7 The declines registered in the high grade domestic investment bonds av- eraged apout a quarter of a point in such issues at Atchison General 4s, Baltimore and Ohio 4s and Canadlan Pacific 4s. Southern Pacific refund ing 4s moved up against the trend and Pennsylvania Consolidated 4%g:. selling above par on less than a 4.56 per cent basis, showed that demand for this grade of railroad issues was still strong. In the United States Government group the Liberty 3s duplicated the year's high price. Other Libertles were steady.
