GARNER SHOOTING :I'RIAL | WILL RESUME TOMORROW | Jury Decide on Conflicting Stories of How Wife Was Wounded by Bullets. The trial of Jesse Garner on a charge of assaulting his wife, Mrs. Lulu E. Garner, with a pistol at her | lome, 401 L street northeast, will be med tomorrow before Justice Bai- ind a jury in Criminal Division 1. The jury will be called on to decide between two conflicting stories of who started the shooting. The wife accuses the husband, but Attorney John H. Burnett, counsel for the accused, says he will prove that the wife first had the pistol, and that in the attempt of the husband to wrest it from her the wife received the wounds. According to Assistant United States Attorney Willam H. Collins, who is conducting the prosecution, Garner entered the home of his wife, from whom he had been separated, and shot her four times. Garner claimed the| wife had been talking about him, the prosecutor told the jury. The shoot- ing_occurred to FOUND. DOG—Final notice! ~Half airedale and Ger- man police dog. E. E.
